I own the 8505 model, which looks identical to this, but the trim is green instead of orange. I’ve had it for about 2 years now and have had no issues of any kind with it. Well, once my girlfriend vacuumed up about a dozen puzzle pieces with the hose and I had to dig those out, but I’d say any vacuum short of a shopvac would have a problem there. Anyway, I’ve had none of the problems these other reviewers are talking about and I own 3 cats, one of which is long hair, and an Australian shepherd, which is also long hair. So I’ve got some serious pet hair in my house. This vacuum has never failed me and is so easy to clean and empty, even my girlfriend can do it. Sometimes. I will agree that it is pretty heavy, but no heavier than any other vacuum with equal suction power.
